On the desk: Ava writes a job and a customer test for an online store, a software company and a dental office. The job link goes out to job boards, groups and your own site, and letters come back; on our own job 153 people applied in the first four days. Ava opens one reply: Rosa, a patient, was charged twice; Maria answered, “I’m so sorry, Rosa. You’re right, both charges are there. I’ve asked billing to refund the second one now, and I’ll call you by 3 pm today to confirm it’s done.” Ava marks that she uses her name, fixes it and gives a time, scores it 92 and says call her first. 71 people finished the written interview. Three were worth a call: Maria Santos 92, Carla Villanueva 89 and Mika Lim 86. The other 68 who finished are set aside, each with Ava’s reason, such as a wrong refund promised or the real question missed. We hired from those three.
